A Tour of Nature's Way Preschool

Image
It's been a challenging week in Austin, thanks to Winter Storm Uri. Luckily, our 1800's Trailhouse building survived the extreme temperatures and prolonged power outage with very little damage.  Check out a photo of the school covered in snow, which is an EXTREMELY rare occurrence.  In honor of our beloved school building, today's Teaching Tuesday will take you on a tour of our school!

Conflict Resolution

Today's Teaching Tuesday discussion topic addresses one aspect of Early Childhood education that can be tricky for even the most seasoned instructors- conflict resolution.  In this video, Elizabeth runs through a conflict resolution framework that adults can use to support young children, as well as strategies to help children regulate their emotions.

Nature Play

As parents and early childhood instructors, providing an enriching educational experience for young ones is essential. In our Teaching Tuesday series, NWPS instructors Caroline and Elizabeth will explore different topics surrounding nature-based education. NWPS instructor Elizabeth begins the series as she explains the benefits of nature play for early childhood and how to foster it as an adult. Elizabeth explains what a risk assessment is, how to scaffold, and how to model nature play for young children.
